The Mazor

Delray Beach, FL

A quiet home for the hours between sessions.

The residence

Where the treatment day comes home.

The Mazor is a two-story Florida bungalow — cream-and-terracotta on the outside, quiet and residential on the inside. It sits in a neighborhood, on a block, which is the point. A home for men in mental-health treatment should look and feel like a home, not like a place that reminds you why you are there.

Upstairs and downstairs give what a single-story cannot: places for privacy without leaving the house, and places for company without needing to plan it. For a resident working through anxiety, PTSD, a mood disorder, or the medication adjustments that go with those, that division of space matters more than it sounds. The nervous system needs somewhere to go that is not a bedroom door.

The Mazor is staffed, close to the RECO Immersive campus, and grounded enough that the clinical work done each day has a real place to settle by evening. It is the arc of recovery held in a house that carries itself with quiet weight.
